- Phone Number Visibility: When you join the main ISABC Community, your phone number is hidden and only visible to Admins. Please note: Once you join specific sub-groups (like Housing or Events), WhatsApp’s default settings make your number visible to everyone in that particular sub-group.
- Spam Prevention: To reduce spam and keep important information easy to find, messaging is restricted in certain groups. In those specific groups, only Admins are allowed to post.
- Advanced Chat Privacy: We have enabled advanced chat privacy features across all our groups to maintain a secure communication environment for our students.
- Disappearing Messages: To protect your data and keep chat histories clean, disappearing messages are turned on. All messages in our groups will automatically delete after 90 days.
Guidelines & Rules Section
✅ Only relevant posts allowed (housing, jobs, events, etc.).
✅ Respect all members; no hate speech or offensive content.
✅ No spam, self-promotion, or external advertisements.
🚫 No Unsolicited DMs: Extracting phone numbers from our groups to send personal, inappropriate, or non-academic messages is strictly prohibited.
📩 Report any suspicious, scam, or harassing private messages directly to the admins with a screenshot.
📌 Admins reserve the right to instantly and permanently remove members who violate these rules.
🔒 Important Privacy Notice Before Joining
For your safety, we highly recommend updating your WhatsApp privacy settings so your personal information isn’t visible to people you haven’t saved in your contacts:
- Hide your Profile Picture: Go to Settings > Privacy > Profile Photo > select “My Contacts”
- Block Spam: Go to Settings > Privacy > Advanced > turn on “Block unknown account messages”
